All Fired Up is a professional wet clay studio which offers a variety of ceramic art classes for children and adults. During Fall 2010 we will be offering wheel throwing, hand building, and tile making courses as both group classes and private lessons.
- Private and semi-private lessons can be scheduled at your convenience for $40.00 per person per hour.
- Children under the age of 9 may enroll in most classes and work during open studio hours when accompanied by an adult (age 18 or older). We strongly believe that participating in the creative process with your child is a valuable and mutually enjoyable experience. To encourage you to play with your child, we are offering accompanying adult fees at 50% off regular class tuition for private lessons only.
Our popular KIDS and CLAY classes meet weekly throughout the year with breaks during the holidays.
Pre-registration and advanced payment is required for all classes.

NEW CLASS: Stained Glass with Mick Needham
Tuesdays: 6:00pm - 8:00pm (Beginners) - 1st class begins September 7th!!!!

Cost: Beginning class - $180 for six weeks. Intermediate/Advanced - $88 per month for four sessions (on-going)
Mick Needham has been the senior stained glass instructor at Butte College for 35 years. He has taught stained glass to literally thousands of students of all skill levels: beginning, intermediate, and advanced. California ’s recent budget cuts, however, have placed the Butte College stained glass program on hold, so we here at All Fired Up are pleased to now offer stained glass classes and excited to welcome someone with Mick’s level of expertise to our teaching staff.

Fall 2010 Kids and Clay

Are you looking for a fun and creative activity for your children this Fall? Check out All Fired Up's Kids and Clay classes! Enrollment includes instruction, materials, glazing and firing of completed projects. Students are encouraged to develop individual project ideas and are assisted in following them through to completion. Classes are for all levels and will develop and expand students' skills and knowledge in ceramic arts. Come Clay with Us!

Pottery Wheel Throwing
Tuesdays: 6:00pm - 8:00pm (Beginners)
Thursdays: 6:00pm - 8:00pm (Intermediate/Advanced)
Cost: Beginning class - $99 a month for four consecutive sessions + $25 materials fee which includes clay, firing and studio glazes. Intermediate/Advanced - $80 per month for four sessions (instruction only)
Beginning throwing will cover wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, use of tools and glazing and surface techniques. Basic forms such as cups and small bowls will be taught. This class is a great class for beginners or someone with previous throwing experience who needs a refresher course. Intermediate throwing is for students with previous throwing experience who wish to fine-tune their techniques. Students will be shown to throw larger, taller and more difficult forms. More detailed glazing and texturing techniques will be covered.

Handbuilding
Wednesdays: 5:30pm - 7:30pm (Beginners)
Thursdays: 6:00pm - 8:00pm (Intermediate to Advanced)

Students of all ages are encouraged to explore creating with clay. Learn basic hand building techniques using pinching, slab and coil methods to make fun and functional items like boxes, bowls or tile. Or stretch your imagination and learn to make free-form shapes, animals and human figures. Students will be encouraged to work at their individual paces and levels, using a variety of tools, textures and glazes.
Handbuilding: Tile Making (Mosaic to Murals)
Wednesdays: 12:00pm - 2:00pm (All Levels Welcome)
Cost: Beginning class - $99 a month for four consecutive sessions + $25 materials fee which includes clay, firing and studio glazes. Intermediate/Advanced - $80 per month for four sessions (instruction only)
Get ready for color and texture in your own custom clay tiles. Whether you want to add a unique look to your bathroom backsplash or kitchen counter, or make your own tiles for that special mosaic project - this is the class for you! This is an introductory course that provides students with discussion and demonstration of design, slab rolling, cutting techniques, surface decoration, relief and glazing. Everyone will produce their own set of ceramic tiles.
